What they wrote to the President

President of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev continues to receive numerous letters.

We present some of them:

From Adam Shimshek, Alanya, Türkiye

‘Much valuable Mr. President!

We have been following the daily events from the media. We are ever with You, the precious people of Azerbaijan, our brothers. Everybody knows that Karabakh is Azerbaijan. You have also said time and again that Azerbaijan has nothing to do with the civilian Armenian population.

Although I am in prison, our hearts are one and I await Your orders. I support You and our respected President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. If I have Your permission and orders, I am ready to fight on the frontline and wherever I am needed. There are so many people like me living in my motherland.

We are one nation, two states. We are brotherly people. The people of Türkiye always stand with the people of Azerbaijan. May our martyrs rest in peace, may God help our fighting soldiers.

Mr. President, I congratulate You on Your victory march!

May god always support You and the brotherly people of Azerbaijan. May victory be Yours and ours. May God protect You, Mr. President.’

From Tarik Karatash, Adana, Türkiye

‘Dear Mr. President,

As a citizen of the Republic of Türkiye who lived in Azerbaijan for 12 years, we always live, see and are proud of the positive results of Your visionary policy.

We look forward to receiving news of Victory from You.

May God protect You, the glorious and honourable soldiers of the Azerbaijani Army, and Your patriotic people.

You are ever in our prayers.’

From Elkhan Mirhashimli, Leeuwarden, Netherlands

‘Dear President, victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief,

There are no words to describe the joy bestowed upon me by the glorious Azerbaijan Army after 27 years. I could not hold back tears of joy as I heard of the liberation of Gubadli, the city I was born in. I reminisced of my childhood and youth for a moment, as I remembered the happy days I had spent in Gubadli, my friends and relatives. It is no longer just a dream to see my ancestral home in Gubadli and to visit the graves of my grandparents. It is now a reality. I can’t wait to return home. My children have not seen Gubadli. They have also grown with the hope of seeing where their grandparents and father were born. The day of the great return has arrived, we are going home. I have lived in the Netherlands for 20 years, but I want to come home soon.

I have established the ‘Azerbaijan House’ diaspora organization in the Netherlands and protecting the interests of our state in the information war has always been the backbone of my activities. I raise awareness among the local population and political parties on the truths of Karabakh. I will be more proactive in my work. I am confident that all occupied lands of Azerbaijan will soon be liberated, and the glorious Azerbaijani flag will undulate in all cities and villages. The successes of the Azerbaijani Army have further encouraged me to be more zealous in protecting the interests and rights of our country.

I thank You on behalf of our organization and the Azerbaijani community in the Netherlands. May You live long!

Victory belongs to us! Karabakh is Azerbaijan!’

From Aliya Tahmasib, Baku, Azerbaijan

‘Dear Mr. President,

I am following all the happenings on the frontline with great excitement like all Azerbaijani people do. Our hearts beat as one with You as You deliver the news of yet another victory with Your soothing voice which has become so dear for all of us. We are all wholeheartedly confident that the enemy will retreat, and the war will end through Your leadership and the bravery of our glorious Army. Victory will be ours!’

From Ibrahim Taghiyev, Naftalan, Azerbaijan

‘Dear President, victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief,

As a pensioner, I would like to wholeheartedly thank You for the determination and courage You have demonstrated to restore our territorial integrity. May God protect You and our victorious army. The entire Azerbaijan and all brotherly Turkic states are looking forward to good news from You. Inshallah, our Army will recover all the occupied lands of Azerbaijan. May God destroy our hateful enemies. May God protect the people of Azerbaijan.

Karabakh belongs to us!

Karabakh is Azerbaijan!

Long live the Azerbaijani Army!

Long live Azerbaijan!’

From Zabil Baghirov, Lerik, Azerbaijan

‘Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief,

We, citizens of Azerbaijan, regularly follow Your political and military actions. You are truly writing a glorious page in the history of Azerbaijani statehood. You are teaching a historic lesson to the enemies and their patrons. You have indeed managed to convert oil capital into human capital. The great successes we are achieving on the frontline are the result of Your work through Your high intelligence. People stand with You, Mr. President. As you always say, Karabakh is Azerbaijan!’

From Yunis Yusifli, Jabrayil, Azerbaijan

From Vidadi Nuriyev, Jalilabad, Azerbaijan

‘Dear President, victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief,

Your motto ‘Karabakh belongs to us! Karabakh is Azerbaijan!’ is the clear example of Your informed, visionary policy and Your great love for the Motherland. This motto has become a prayer in our hearts, from 7 to 70, and has encouraged us to stand up and unite around You like a fist. This motto will also be leading us on in the future.

My family and I do and will always support You in Your successful work to restore the territorial integrity of our country as a result of Your visionary policy.

May God Almighty give You and Mehriban Khanim a long and healthy life, may You live to be a hundred!

May You always lead the Azerbaijani people to great heights!’

From Tofig Shukurov, Lachin, Azerbaijan

‘Dear President, victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief,

The wound of Karabakh, inflicted on our Motherland by our hated neighbours for over 30 years, has made every Azerbaijani heart ache. Our people have historically raised great generals, and they have always kept our Motherland alive and strong on such difficult days. One of such commanders, I would say the very first one, is You. Because only Your prowess as a leader has brought us back the lands we lost since early 19th century towards late 20th century, and we have all witnessed it. All of us are proud of being the citizens of a country lead by You. I pray to God for Your good health and success on this path of justice.’

From Elgun Eyvazov, Fuzuli, Azerbaijan

‘Dear President, victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief,

I would like to thank You for the joy You have bestowed upon us after 27 long years. The people of Azerbaijan love You and always support Your policy. May You always shine bright for the sake of our people. We are confident that we will soon see Karabakh fully recovered. May God protect You and our army! Karabakh is Azerbaijan! Long live the Supreme Commander-in-Chief!’

From Sabuhi Huseynov, Ganja, Azerbaijan

‘Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief,

We trust You in Your fight for the territorial integrity of our country and look forward to the full liberation of our lands. It is obvious for all how hard You have worked for the recovery of our beautiful Azerbaijan. We, the people of Azerbaijan, are joyous and proud to see Your resolute stance, decisive policy and the worthy responses to the enemy. I am confident that every one of us Azerbaijanis support You in this fight of justice and wish You to deliver the news of great Victory very soon. Looking forward to hearing the news of recovery of Shusha, Lachin, Khankendi, Kalbajar and all our other regions…’

From Khalid Osmanov, Aghsu, Azerbaijan

‘Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief,

The people of Aghsu, including me, support Your decisive steps. You have earned an outstanding reputation among all Azerbaijani Turks around the world with this determination. We are so happy You are with us. May God protect You!

There were eleven of us children in the family. All our sons are now fighting on the frontline under Your command and are proud to do so. Although I am a disabled person, I, too, am eager to join the battles. I have forgotten my illness for all this joy. I served in a special task force in 1999, my arms and legs are on place. I want to volunteer for the army and face the enemy on the frontline. How I wish to take part in raising our flag in our recovered territories. Although I have made requests repeatedly, I have been told there was no need for me yet.

Mr. President, my wish is to see our tricolour flag undulate in Khankendi and to have the city renamed to Ilhamabad. All the Azerbaijani people would be happy about it.

Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief, I wish You success on this path of justice. May our great leader Heydar Aliyev rest in peace, may God grant his worthy follower with good health. May our martyrs rest in peace, may our wounded find healing.

May God give strength to our victorious Army and may You be our eternal President.

Long live the brave hero Ilham Aliyev, who loves his people so!

Karabakh is Azerbaijan!’

From Zaur Taghiyev, Tovuz, Azerbaijan

‘Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief,

We are ending our longing of 30 years thanks to Your visionary and wise policy. You have always tried to recover our occupied territories through peace, not war. But the bloodthirsty enemies did not agree to peace. we, on the other hand, could not wait another 30 years. We are on the path of justice; our cause is the just one. I am confident that we will soon win, and our tricolour flag will undulate in all corners of our Motherland.

May God help You in this difficult, yet honourable work. We always stand with You. With the wish to meet You in our beautiful Karabakh, Aghdam….

Karabakh is Azerbaijan!’

From Elnur Novruzov, Nakhchivan, Azerbaijan

‘Dear Mr. President,

The people of Azerbaijani are endlessly grateful to You. When You laugh, all of Azerbaijan laughs with You. The hearts of our people beat along with Yours. This is true love; this is true national unity!

Mr. President, I do not know how to thank You for Your heroic policy for the freedom of our territories.

My dear and sincere President, we are enthused to watch every speech You deliver. I can’t help but shed tears of joy, following Your every word.

May God Almighty ever have You guide the people of Azerbaijan and the Turkic world!’

Azərbaycan Ordusunun sentyabrın 27-də işğalçı Ermənistan silahlı qüvvələrinə qarşı başladığı əks-hücum əməliyyatında əldə etdiyi möhtəşəm qələbələr haqqında bundan sonra kitablar yazılacaq, filmlər çəkiləcək. Amma indidən tam əminliklə deyə bilərik ki, cəbhə uğurlarımızın ən başlıca səbəbi Prezident, Ali Baş Komandan İlham Əliyevin həyata keçirdiyi güclü dövlət, güclü ordu strategiyası, milli birlik və döyüşçülərimizin ruh yüksəkliyi idi.
