What they wrote to the President

President of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev continues receiving letters.

We present some of them:

From Mehmet Bingol, Balikesir, Türkiye

‘Dear Mr. President,

I wish from the bottom of my heart and with all my being for brotherly Azerbaijan to rise victorious in this holy Patriotic War, to soon liberate all occupied lands and pen a true victory.

My heart beats along the heroic Azerbaijani army, fighting with all they can on the frontline.

May Your pen and sword be always sharp, Azerbaijan!’

From Jemail Bakindi and others, Istanbul, Türkiye

‘Dear Mr. President,

We wholeheartedly support the struggle Azerbaijan has launched to recover its lands that have been under occupation for 30 years.

Our hearts beat with You in every struggle You have as we always remember ‘Two states, one nation’. The occupied lands will surely be recovered. There is no other way. We pray to God for our martyred soldiers to rest in peace.

Azerbaijan will definitely score a victory.

We congratulate You, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, on this occasion.

There is Türkiye if there is Azerbaijan, and there is Azerbaijan if there is Türkiye.

As members of the Supreme Assembly of Turkey’s Hotel Restaurant and Entertainment Workers Trade Union (TOLEYIS), we express our support for Your righteous struggle.’

From Asya Aliyeva, Tula, the Russian Federation

‘Dear President Ilham Aliyev,

I am an Azerbaijani of Avar origin from Balaken, who now lives in Tula, Russia.

There are no words to express the joy and pride You have bestowed upon our people. I excitedly follow the events in my country, regretting that I cannot be among my compatriots on these glorious days.

The Russian media sometimes presents events based on their own interests and serves the Armenian authorities at times. However, these do not matter much when our people are so determined. The Armenian morale thins out as they suffer more losses.

We admire Your education, Your ability to express Yourself intellectually and culturally, Your encyclopedic knowledge. We are endlessly proud of You. I can also see how Russians and people of other nationalities around me are impressed by You.

We are proud of You and our Motherland. God willing, the victory will be ours.

Our prayers remain with You.’

From Eldar Aliyev, Lerik, Azerbaijan

‘Dear Mr. President,

I am proud of You. I thank You and our glorious Army for the victories we have authored. May our martyrs be avenged; may our lands never remain under the foothold of the hated enemy.

I am proud of the Azerbaijani Army. We trust You and our Army. We are extremely happy to have such brave, fearless, heroic sons.

Mr. President, I have two sons and five daughters. One of my sons, Gurbanali Aliyev, is on the frontline now. I am proud of all our soldiers. May Allah protect them all! My other son and I are also ever ready to fight for the Motherland, should it be necessary.

We remember with great heartache the events of 1992 and 1993, the calamities our nefarious neighbours, our enemies brought upon our civilian population, and the massacre they committed in Khojaly. We believe that the blood of the innocent shed there will surely be avenged. Our mighty Army will make sure of that.

May the soul of our Great Leader Heydar Aliyev rest in peace, as his son Ilham Aliyev is liberating the Karabakh lands from the enemy.

Long live the President of Azerbaijan!

Karabakh is Azerbaijan!’

From Kurdoghlu Asgarov, Baku, Azerbaijan

‘Dear President, Mr. Supreme Commander-in-Chief!

I rejoice, like all children of our glorious Motherland, seeing our victorious army recover our occupied lands under Your powerful command and inflict devastating blows to the enemy.

We write on behalf of the family of Dilgam Asgarov, who is currently held in Armenian captivity. We applaud You for the counter-offensive You have launched for the territorial integrity of our country and declare our everlasting solidarity with You. I am confident that all our lands will be recovered from enemy foothold and all our compatriots, including my father, who are now in captivity will finally find freedom and return to their homes. We too have lost our home in Kalbajar and live the lives of forcibly displaced people.

Your words on working hard to be the president of every Azerbaijani citizen has brought joy and light to our lives, the common citizens. We had appealed to You regarding compensation for property damage in my father’s rental area. The appeal was treated with utmost sensitivity, and the problem soon settled. This is the true manifestation of the care and attention You extend to every citizen of Azerbaijan.

Mr. President, we pray to God for Your good health and victory on this path of justice!

Karabakh is Azerbaijan!’

From Deniz Babayev, Baku, Azerbaijan

‘Dear Mr. President,

This letter is addressed to You by me, Deniz Babayeva, the daughter of Elnur Babayev Vidadi oghlu, an IDP from Zangilan. My family is temporarily settled in the building owned by Trust 4 in Boyuk Shor Settlement in Narimanov District. And I go to 6th grade in 73 secondary school in that district.

Our dearest President, I congratulate You on liberating a portion of our lands from occupation. I am confident that all our occupied lands will be recovered from the enemy and my family, like all IDPs, will soon return to our homes.

We love You, we believe in You and we always support You.

Long live our Commander Ilham Aliyev, who leads us from one victory to another!

Long live our glorious Army!

Long live Azerbaijan!

Karabakh is Azerbaijan!’

From Sefali Baghirov, Aghdam, Azerbaijan

‘Dear President, Mr. Supreme Commander-in-Chief,

I, Sefali Baghirov Rizvan oghlu, an IDP from Mughanli village in Aghdam, thank You on behalf of all the people of Aghdam and myself.

May God Almighty bless You and our army in the counter-offensive, launched in retaliation to Armenian provocations. Amen.

I bow before the great spirit of our National Leader Heydar Aliyev for these days, for a Supreme Commander-in-Chief like You and for the mighty Azerbaijani Army. May the souls of our Great Leader and all our martyrs rest in peace.

Mr. President, I wish You good health and a great victory.’

From Intizam Mammadov, Baku, Azerbaijan

‘Our Dearest President,

I am very happy about the victories of our Army. My mother is crying with joy.

Dear President, I also want to be a soldier. Although I am only 12, I, too, want to go to the frontline and fight for our Motherland. Our martyrs go down in history. I, too, want that.

I love my homeland Azerbaijan as much as my mother. When I see my brothers fighting, I want to be with them to help them. I am not too small for that. I want to chase the Armenians away ‘like chasing dogs’ as you said.

I love my Motherland!

I love my land!

I love my President!’

From Gahira Balayeva, Baku, Azerbaijan

‘Dear Mr. Supreme Commander-in-Chief,

I simply had to write this letter to You.

Mr. President, our lands that have been under occupation for many years are being recovered thanks to Your determination. I wish You success on this honourable, yet difficult, path.

I pray to God for a long life and good health to You. I wish You to be always our head of state. There is no one other like You.

We stand by You! May God protect You and our army!

Karabakh is Azerbaijan!’

From Rza Rzayev, Lankaran, Azerbaijan

‘Dear Mr. President,

Us, the clerics, are also rejoiced at the news of our mighty Army liberating our occupied lands under Your leadership. The day is very close when our valiant soldiers will raise our tricolour flag in Shusha.

Mr. President, if the need arises, we the clerics, are ever ready to fight with our lives and blood for the recovery of our holy lands from the foothold of the hated enemy. We are proud to have a Supreme Commander-in-Chief like You.

May God protect You, our people, and our State on this path of justice!’

May the great leader Heydar Alirza oghlu rest in peace, for bestowing such a genius leader like You upon Azerbaijan!

The blooming of our state, the prosperity and welfare of our people are the products of Your successful domestic and foreign policy. Your hard work to strengthen our Army is bearing its fruit today. Our Glorious Army is authoring great victories for the liberation of our occupied lands.

From Vasila Maharramova, Khojaly, Azerbaijan

‘Dear Mr. President,

‘I am one of the 25 people, who were forcibly displaced from Khojaly and lost both parents. As a daughter of a martyr, we have always felt Your care and attention towards us. And now we, the children without both parents, stand by You. Our tears of longing are replaced with those of joy as we watch Your appeals to the people in these difficult times. We are always proud of You. God willing, we will soon reunite with our Khojaly, Shusha, Lachin and the entire Karabakh, the blood of our martyrs will be avenged, and we will proudly raise our flag in our dear Karabakh thanks to Your policy. You are the President we trust and rely on. You are our mighty Supreme Commander-in-Chief. Karabakh is Azerbaijan!’

From Madina Guluzadeh, Fuzuli, Azerbaijan

‘Mr. Supreme Commander-in-Chief,

I could not remain indifferent to the recent successes in the Karabakh war. For this, I would like to express my gratitude and joy to You. Those days full of longing for our native lands that we only heard of from our ancestors, but never saw for ourselves, are now behind thanks to You and our army. As we listen to the joyful tides from the frontline, I look forward to hearing the news about the recovery of my dear home Fuzuli, followed by entire Karabakh. It is impossible not to feel proud seeing our soldiers fight with all their might on the frontline in Fuzuli and our people giving all their support to our army despite the dangers they face every moment of their lives in the rear. All people of Karabakh cannot wait to see the moment their homeland is liberated from the enemy and believe that the day is close. We wholeheartedly trust You and our army and are confident that we will soon reunite with lands we have longed for these past 30 years. We are sure that our martyrs will be avenged thanks to You and our valiant army. Karabakh is Azerbaijan! The whole world will soon witness and understand this thanks to You!’

Azərbaycan Ordusunun sentyabrın 27-də işğalçı Ermənistan silahlı qüvvələrinə qarşı başladığı əks-hücum əməliyyatında əldə etdiyi möhtəşəm qələbələr haqqında bundan sonra kitablar yazılacaq, filmlər çəkiləcək. Amma indidən tam əminliklə deyə bilərik ki, cəbhə uğurlarımızın ən başlıca səbəbi Prezident, Ali Baş Komandan İlham Əliyevin həyata keçirdiyi güclü dövlət, güclü ordu strategiyası, milli birlik və döyüşçülərimizin ruh yüksəkliyi idi.
