May our hearts beat, our blood shed and tears flow for our Motherland. I am proud to be an Azerbaijani. Long live my President, standing guard of his nation.
My house shakes to the sound of cannons and rifles as I write these lines to you. Yet, we are not afraid. There is nothing to be afraid when we have a saviour like You!

There are no words to express the joy I felt as I watched the Azerbaijani flag undulate proudly in the Hadrut settlement. I am sure that all Azerbaijanis, all people of Karabakh, were as happy as I was in that moment.
I am proud of You, our soldiers and our people who are united as a fist. All of us have a comforting feeling of confidence that Your words will soon come true. I truly believe that everything will work out beautifully.’

We are sure that our people will show the hated enemy their place as they stand closely united around You, as we always do.
Mr. Supreme Commander-in-Chief, we thank You for the encouraging, joyful war tides. We wish You and our valiant Army strength and more success on this path.

From Baba Samadov, Sheki, Azerbaijan
‘Dear Mr. Supreme Commander-in-Chief,
I congratulate You heartily on the successes we have so shortly achieved against the hated enemy.
God willing, we are confident that our glorious army will soon win and recover the entire Karabakh. Our biggest wish is to see our three-colour flag undulate proudly in Khankendi and Shusha. I wish You success on this difficult, yet honourable path. You can rest assured that all people stand united around You.
Karabakh is an integral part of Azerbaijan. It is our ancestral land.
Karabakh is Azerbaijan!’
From Almaz Abishov, Imishli, Azerbaijan
‘Mr. Supreme Commander-in-Chief,
I rejoice at the news that our army, under Your command, has been recovering our lands from the Armenian terrorists. My four colleagues and I fought in the bloody battles for Karabakh in November of 1991. One of my brothers in arms was Imamverdi Aliyev, the National Hero of Azerbaijan.
It was the bitter result of the political incompetence of the leadership at the time that we lost so much of our lands.
I was in tears of joy as I heard the news of the recovery of Jabrayil and Hadrut from occupation and the Azerbaijani flag being planted in those regions. I was wounded there. My comrades-in-arms are not the only ones rejoicing today. The martyrs, who died for those lands, can now finally rest in peace.
Mr. President, we express our eternal gratitude to You and our victorious army on behalf of myself and the staff and veterans of the Imishli police department for allowing us to witness these glorious days. We always stand by You. God bless You!’
From Taghi Mammadov, Baku, Azerbaijan
‘Mr. Supreme Commander-in-Chief,
Your order to the Azerbaijani people to liberate our ancestral lands from Armenian usurpers has become a calling for all of us. I cannot take part in the battles as I live a life of imprisonment. But I am ever ready.
I have a military education and am perfectly capable of handling numerous weapons.
Mr. President, I am always ready to join the frontline as a son of this country. I await Your order.’
From Nijad Niyazi, Baku, Azerbaijan
‘Dear Mr. President, much respected Supreme Commander-in-Chief,
I thank You for the victory tides You have been delivering us. I always have and will continue supporting You. You are a powerful and resolute Leader, who has a say among global politicians. The Armenian aggressors will never forget the solid lessons You have been teaching them for the rest of their lives. We, all the people of Azerbaijan, do and always will support and trust every step You take. We truly believe that You will continue to fight until the last one of the enemies is banished from our occupied lands. Every word You utter in Your appeals to the nation is music to our ears, a source of joy and morale. God bless You.’
From Ughur Shikhalizadeh, Baku, Azerbaijan
‘Dear Mr. Supreme Commander-in-Chief,
As a schoolboy from Baku, I am proud of the successful operations the Azerbaijani Armed Forces have launched for the liberation of our precious lands that have been under the enemy’s foothold for almost 30 years. We are confident that we will soon get to witness more good news thanks to the strength and military finesse of the Azerbaijani soldiers. The recent successful operations have greatly inspired me as a future soldier. May God bless You and our army with good health. We strongly trust You and our glorious Army. We are stronger together! Karabakh is Azerbaijan!’
From Araz Budagov, Sabirabad, Azerbaijan
‘Dearest honourable President,
I write this letter to You with great joy and pride. As the true follower of our great leader Heydar Aliyev, You too have endless love for Your people and are doing everything in Your power for their development and establishment globally. You serve our people. You do everything necessary for their wellbeing. You help the families of refugees and the martyrs in every possible way. You have always stood by our people during any misfortunes or natural disasters. This fills our hearts with joy and pride. This is the manifestation of Your great love for Your people!
Our dearest President, the Armenian aggressors once again resorted to provocation and attacked Azerbaijan on September 27. Our army has demonstrated great valiance and retaliated worthily under Your wise leadership. Our lands are recovered as we speak. Our eyes fill with tears of joy as you announce ‘Karabakh is Azerbaijan’! All Your speeches inspire joy, happiness, and pride among people. God bless You!
Honourable President, You give interviews to various foreign TV channels. All of them are filled with love for the Motherland and love for the people. The people rejoice and are truly elated as our army recovers our occupied lands inch by inch and moves forward. May God never separate us from You. May He grant You a long life. May God protect You and Azerbaijan. May all our lands be liberated and the Azerbaijani flag flies high in every corner of our glorious country.
Mr. President, there is only one thing my heart desires. I want to embrace You as You deliver us the war tides from the frontline. I wish very much for the war to end soon and deliver us our victory.
Long live the people of Azerbaijan and their President Ilham Aliyev! Long live the heroic Azerbaijani Army! May justice always prevail!’
From Ragil Baloghlanov, Yardimli, Azerbaijan
‘Dear Mr. Supreme Commander-in-Chief,
The bravery our Army has been recently demonstrating is the clear manifestation of Your wise steps. Your resolute policy has once again shown that Azerbaijan is capable of everything. The Azerbaijani Army is fighting heroically for our lands. Our soldiers are ready to sacrifice their lives but would never allow and inch of our lands to be occupied.
I am proud to be an Azerbaijani and a citizen of the country led by You.
Long live Azerbaijan! Karabakh is Azerbaijan!’
From Abdullah Nazarli, Baku, Azerbaijan
‘Dear President, Mr. Supreme Commander-in-Chief,
Our recent achievements in Karabakh are the product of Your successful policy. We have been patient for 30 years. But along patience, we have also been resolute in our stance for all these years. We were confident that we will recover our dear Karabakh from the Armenian occupation under Your leadership.
The day has finally arrived. We have started fulfilling our sacred duty after 30 years. Inshallah, all Azerbaijanis and the entire world will soon hear the glorious news of ‘Karabakh being completely liberated from Armenian occupation’.
God bless You. God willing, the Azerbaijani flag will fly high in Shusha. We will perform our namaz prayers and read adhan in our mosques in Aghdam, Shusha, all over Karabakh after 30 long years. Amen.
We, schoolchildren, are happy to be witnessing these glorious days that will go down in history, instead of reading about them.’
