What they wrote to the President
A group of Azerbaijani clerics in Georgia have sent a letter to the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
The letter reads:
‘Dear Mr. President,
We, Azerbaijani clerics in Georgia, are eagerly and excitedly watching the Patriotic War, launched on 27 September, to restore the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and clear our occupied territories from Armenian armed forces. The cowardly attack on Tovuz in July proved once again that there is no point in civil approaches with the enemy, who has been violating the ceasefire and disregarding peace negotiations for many years.
The hearts of our compatriots in Georgia are beating with Azerbaijan and Azerbaijani soldiers. We might be citizens of another country, but we are ever ready to face all challenges for our homeland and state. We truly believe that the 30 years’ longing will soon end. Our compatriots stand in full solidarity with You and are ever ready to support our Motherland and fight in the trenches alongside You. God willing, the Azerbaijani people will soon come out victorious in Karabakh, thus restoring peace and justice.
Much respected Mr. President, the quote ‘Azerbaijan is a strong state with a strong army’ You have once and again patiently repeated has now become a source of pride for every Azerbaijani. We have once again been convinced during this Patriotic War that such a powerful army is the product of a military construction policy carefully pursued by a determined Supreme Commander like Yourself.
We truly believe that Your resolute policy will triumph in success and we will soon recover our lands. Ensuring the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan is our pride and sacred duty today.
Our prayers are with You and our victorious Army. May all our martyrs who sacrificed their lives to have the Azerbaijani flag undulate in Karabakh rest in peace! May God heal our wounded sons.
