What they wrote to the President

President of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev continues to receive letters from Türkiye, Russia, and various parts of the country.

We present some of them:

From Berkut Genjay Sarikiz, Balikesir, Türkiye

‘Dear Mr. President,

I am a school pupil. I love Azerbaijan very much.

I have donated the 100 Turkish liras my father gave me for school supplies to the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan and I truly hope that it will be my contribution to our soldiers. I can still use my old notebooks and pencils.

I hope this money will help my elder soldier brothers more. God willing, victory will belong to You.

May God ever protect our soldiers and deliver them from hardship.’

From Hilalsu Mert, Yozgat, Türkiye

‘Dear Mr. President,

I am 10 years old. I wholeheartedly solute You, kiss Your hand as my dearest elder, and pray to God Almighty to protect You.

I excitedly follow the path You have embarked on to liberate Your homeland from occupation on TV every day. I believe that You will soon recover the lands, Your martyrs sacrificed their lives for, from Armenian oppression.

My family and I pray for You and Your heroic soldiers. We share both Your joy and sorrow as our own.

I have donated my earrings to the fund established to help Azerbaijani soldiers and I hope I have had my small share to support our brave soldiers.

May God protect You.’

From Erdal Adlan, Giresun, Türkiye

‘Dear Mr. President,

I would like to begin my letter with a prayer to God that all our soldiers, martyred for the freedom of Azerbaijan and Türkiye throughout history, rest in peace.

Mr. President, although I was only 10 in the early 1990s, my grandfather and I could not hold our tears back as we watched the news on the occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh. This wound had remained unhealed and bleeding in our hearts for years. But I was ever confident that my Azerbaijani brothers, true Turks, would not give away even an inch of their lands.

I rejoiced at hearing You expel the Armenian terrorists from Your lands. May You banish them forever, so our 10-year-olds never grieve again.

Our people still remember the atrocities the Armenians committed in my native Giresun in 1915-1923 and all the treachery against the Turks throughout history.

With the victories You have won, You are avenging Your martyrs, but also all the victims of Armenian terrorism.

Türkiye always stands with Azerbaijan, which is as dear to us as our own. Every citizen of our country is ever ready and considers it an honour to die for Azerbaijan. Everyone who has Turkic blood in their veins, including myself, is now praying for You in Your righteous cause. Please, do not forget that we stand with You with our life and blood in Your struggle for justice.

May Your martyrs rest in peace, and may Your wounded find healing.

God save the Turk!

The carriers of the Turkic blood are ever happy.’

From Namig Alimuradov, Moscow, Russia

‘Dear Mr. President,

I have been following the ongoings in my beloved Azerbaijan for a month. I am overjoyed and proud every time I hear the news of yet another success won by the Azerbaijani Army in the war for the recovery of the Karabakh lands.

Living away from my homeland can never lessen my love for Azerbaijan and my pride for my country!

Mr. President, I wish You and all the people of Azerbaijan strength, perseverance, and success in all Your endeavours.

The strong sense of justice, instilled in us by our parents, something characteristic of all people living in Azerbaijan, would never allow us to remain indifferent to ongoings.

I am ever ready to help Azerbaijan both in word and deed!

Mr. President, I wish success to all of us, especially to You. Those who fight for justice always win because justice always prevails.

Karabakh is Azerbaijan!’

From Mayis Mammadov, Novosibirsk, Russia

‘Dear Mr. President!

We would like to express our deepest condolences on behalf of myself and the Russian-Azerbaijani Regional Public Organization to the entire Azerbaijani nation for our brothers who lost their lives during the military operations to liberate our occupied lands launched by the Azerbaijani Army in retaliation to Armenia attacking Azerbaijani positions and settlements on 27 September. We are deeply saddened by the casualties among civilians and destruction of residential and public buildings, including schools and kindergartens. We strongly condemn using weapons and force against civilians.

We, your compatriots, might be far from the Motherland, but we have been closely following the unfolding events and the recovery of our lands, occupied for almost 30 years, during the counterattack launched by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces. We support You in this struggle for justice. We can never remain indifferent towards the fate of our compatriots, as our hearts beat with Azerbaijan.

We hope that the temporary ceasefire will open a new opportunity to settle the conflict. We believe that Azerbaijan, backed by justice as per history and international law, will continue its supremacy in the field of diplomacy as it has been on the battlefield and will achieve the recovery of Nagorno-Karabakh within its territories and establishment of peace, stability, and order in the region.

Our beautiful country is facing a new challenge. The experience we have been put through over the past years has taught us to have faith, fight, and win.

Dear Mr. President, I support and am proud of Your strategic policy. I believe that Your ironclad leadership and wisdom that have always guided our people on the right path will lead to peace and prosperity. Regardless of the country we live in, we, Your compatriots, support Your policy and will do our best for stability and prosperity in Azerbaijan.

The Russia-Azerbaijan friendship goes back many generations and the people of Russia and Azerbaijan have always been ready to come to each other’s aid in difficult situations. I hope that this friendship will ever blossom, deepen, and strengthen over the years to come for the sake of progress, prosperity, and cooperation of both states.’

‘Dear President, Mr. Supreme Commander-in-Chief!

I am proud of You. I proudly watch the joyous seconds as You speak out the sentences on the liberation of the Azerbaijani lands inch after another and count the names of the recovered settlements.

Mr. President, the personnel changes You have made in recent years, the measures You have taken to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, and finally the Patriotic War You have launched to put an end to our longing for Karabakh, a wound that has been bleeding in our hearts prove once again that wonderful days always await the people of Azerbaijan as long as You are with us. I believe in and trust You. If only I could personally hear You exclaim ‘Karabakh is Azerbaijan!’, not on TV.

God bless You and our brave soldiers! I am proud to be an Azerbaijani!

Karabakh is Azerbaijan!’

Azərbaycan Ordusunun sentyabrın 27-də işğalçı Ermənistan silahlı qüvvələrinə qarşı başladığı əks-hücum əməliyyatında əldə etdiyi möhtəşəm qələbələr haqqında bundan sonra kitablar yazılacaq, filmlər çəkiləcək. Amma indidən tam əminliklə deyə bilərik ki, cəbhə uğurlarımızın ən başlıca səbəbi Prezident, Ali Baş Komandan İlham Əliyevin həyata keçirdiyi güclü dövlət, güclü ordu strategiyası, milli birlik və döyüşçülərimizin ruh yüksəkliyi idi.
