What they wrote to the President

President of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ilham Aliyev continues to receive letters.

We present some of them:

From Ahmet Hulisi Arslan, Kocaeli, Türkiye

‘Dear Mr. President,

I applaud Your perseverance and determination for the liberation for Your lands and watch the events unfold with great pride.

I am a cardiovascular surgeon. I am ready to do everything I can for Azerbaijan in times of both war and peace. Therefore, I await Your orders as Your soldier.’

From Vugar Savzaliyev, Sakarya, Türkiye

‘Dear President, Mr. Supreme Commander-in-Chief,

I am an ethnic Azerbaijani, currently living in Sakarya as a citizen of the Republic of Türkiye. I have bachelor’s and master’s degrees in international relations, and I continue my scientific studies.

My thesis will be on the status of Karabakh as per international law. We proudly follow Your resolute policy on Karabakh and watch the valiant Azerbaijani Army make history under Your leadership. My family and all my friends here support the steps You and our Army take in this sacred war.

We, the members of the Azerbaijani diaspora abroad, appreciate all Your efforts for the recovery of Karabakh. I also serve my country with my poems and my pen.

May victory always accompany You. Long live the Supreme Commander-in-Chief and Army of Azerbaijan!’

From Emil Adigozalov, Baku, Azerbaijan

‘Our dearest President,

I put pen to paper to express our gratitude to You and our glorious Army on behalf of my family and the entire nation.

May God Almighty protect our valiant Army, writing a glorious history under Your leadership!

I would like to declare in full confidence that You are the national leader and the Supreme Commander of our nation, which has come even closer in these difficult days. All our people, be it the government or the opposition, have united around You and will remain so until the very end. May You always remain with our people.

Victory belongs to us!’

From Farrukh Aghakishiyev,

‘Dear President, Mr. Supreme Commander-in-Chief,

I salute You as an 83-year-old elderly Azerbaijani citizen and pray to God for Your good health. May he bring about the day when Your successful policy leads to an absolute victory of our glorious Army over the fascist Armenians, when our tricolour flag undulates magnificently in Lachin, Kalbajar, Shusha, Khankendi, and other occupied regions. Our people rejoice at every successful operation run by our Army, which boosts confidence among the entire nation. Long live the glorious Azerbaijani Army!

The errant Armenian army commanders could not simply gather that a handful of invaders could never defeat the soldiers of a nation of ten million, burning with the desire for revenge. Their resistance resembles a fight of a fox against an elephant.

Mr. Supreme Commander, killing the snake must not suffice. Its head must be crushed, so it can never crawl again. In this situation, we must crush them like we would a snake’s head. They may never even utter the word Karabakh. May their dreams for ‘Greater Armenia’ freeze in their hearts like a piece of ice.

Dear President, You are fighting three enemies simultaneously, the Armenian fascists, COVID-19, and the enemy within, the ‘Fifth Column’. Our people are confident that You will come out victorious in all these battles. Your name will go down in history in golden letters.

Mr. President, I watched Your appeal to the people. It was a wise and resolute speech.

May God protect You! Long live the Azerbaijani Army! Long live Azerbaijan!’

From Khalig Ibrahimov, Baku, Azerbaijan

‘Our dearest President, Mr. Supreme Commander-in-Chief,

Our people are proud of You. We rely on and believe in You. We have united even more closely around You in these crucial times for our country.

We are confident that thanks to Your efforts, we will overcome this conflict that has dragged on for many years. I wish You good health and inexhaustible strength.

Karabakh is ours! Karabakh is Azerbaijan!’

From Ruhiyya Imanova, Fuzuli, Azerbaijan

‘Dear President, Mr. Supreme Commander-in-Chief,

I write this letter to You as a resident of Fuzuli, a military family, and an education worker. Our dearest Supreme Commander-in-Chief, who has bestowed upon us the joy of Victory after 27 long years, we support Your policy. We thank You and our mighty Army, carrying out Your battle orders, for the attention and care You have always shown to the IDPs and the liberation of our sacred lands from occupation. We ever stand by You and our glorious Army.

You have shown Your power as the Supreme Commander to the entire world and defeated the hated enemy once again with Your visionary policy. You have engraved ‘Karabakh is Azerbaijan!’ both on the political and the battlefields.

Every Azerbaijani, from 7 to 79, is now united closely around You, feeling confident that You will lead us to a great victory and our tricolour flag will soon be raised in Shusha.

Mr. President, education workers, military families, and all residents of Fuzuli are ever ready to follow Your instructions and serve in the army ranks should it be necessary.’

From Tariyel Shahbazov, Fuzuli, Azerbaijan

‘Dear President, Mr. Supreme Commander-in-Chief,

I would like to express our gratitude to You and our victorious army for liberating a portion of our dear Karabakh from occupation on behalf of myself as a resident of Fuzuli and the staff at Araz Farm, which I head. We wish You further success on this path of justice.

We believe that You will soon deliver the news of great Victory. We always stand by You.

May God Almighty protect You and our brave army under Your command!

Victory belongs to us! Karabakh is Azerbaijan!’

From Khalil Baghirov, Aghdam, Azerbaijan

‘My dearest President,

As an intellectual from Aghdam, I thank you on behalf of my entire family and myself. I rejoice at every inch of our Motherland recovered. We are grateful to You and our mighty Army for bestowing this joy upon us.

You speak the minds of all Azerbaijanis with Your thorough and informed answers during interviews to foreign TV channels. This is Your victory over the enemy in the information war. Therefore, I thank You wholeheartedly.

May God protect You and our army!’

From Eldar Huseynli, Kalbajar, Azerbaijan

‘Dear President, Mr. Supreme Commander-in-Chief,

Writing to You is an eighty-year-old IDP from Kalbajar, who has longed for his home for twenty-seven years and never lost hope of going back one day.

Mr. President, You have always done great deeds for our country and people through You visionary and resolute policy. We have always firmly believed that You will bring upon the day when we all return to our native lands and villages. Thank God the day has finally arrived. We are all looking forward to returning to our dear Kalbajar, with its beautiful nature and rich resources.

Dear President, the greatest wish of us, the Kalbajar people, is to host You and our First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva at Istisu, the world-famous resort with healing waters, in our dear Kalbajar, which is often compared to Switzerland with its breathtaking nature.

We rely on and trust You.

Victory belongs to us, Karabakh is Azerbaijan!

We pray to God that You always remain with us.’

From Telman Hasanov, Aghjabadi, Azerbaijan

‘Dear Mr. President,

Our biggest joy and dream in life have been clearing our occupied lands from Armenian invaders. We, the people of Aghjabadi, and all Azerbaijanis are proud of You and happy to have such a Supreme Commander-in-Chief.

Although our lands are under constant fire, our lights are on, and we follow the frontline events on TV. We love You very much, Mr. President. We thank You for everything You do for the prosperity of Azerbaijan, the restoration of our territorial integrity, and the further strengthening of our independence. May God help You on this honourable path.’

From Matanat Akhudzadeh, Ganja, Azerbaijan

‘Our Mighty President,

I am 10 years old, and I go to 5th grade at school. Although I am still very young, I am ready to die for the freedom of our lands.

We live in Ganja and the enemy army often fires rockets here. But we are not scared of anything because we have a Supreme Commander-in-Chief like You and a strong Army.

Long live our President! Long live the Azerbaijani Army!

Karabakh belongs to us, Karabakh is Azerbaijan!’

From Elmir Mammadzadeh, Fuzuli, Azerbaijan

‘Our dearest President, Mr. Supreme Commander-in-Chief,

As a resident of Fuzuli, I would like to note with utmost gratitude that Your tireless efforts to liberate our lands from occupation and to restore our territorial integrity, and the bravery of our Army have drawn us very close to complete Victory.

God willing, our glorious flag will undulate proudly in Shusha, Khankendi, and in every corner of Karabakh.

May the God Almighty protect You and the brave Azerbaijani soldiers!

Karabakh belongs to us! Karabakh is Azerbaijan!

Long live our glorious Army!

From Rovnag Mammadov, Lankaran, Azerbaijan

‘Most respected and dearest President,

I would firstly like to express my deepest gratitude and warmest regards to You.

I am crying tears of joy, which are only a part of it. There are no words to describe it fully.

You have continued the political course of the Great Leader for Azerbaijan’s glorious victory, boosted Azerbaijan’s economic and military power, and its political stance in the international arena, and thus demonstrated our strength to the hated enemy and its patrons. You are the inexhaustible strength and the unquenchable sun of the Azerbaijani people and state. As the sun rises above the horizon, it shines life into the darkness around.

Mr. President, I congratulate You and our glorious Army on our victories. May Your fiery heart always beat for the people of Azerbaijan.

Karabakh is Azerbaijan!’

From Manaf Suleymanov, Bilasuvar, Azerbaijan

‘Dear Mr. President,

I congratulate You, Your family, all our people, and our state on behalf of my family and myself.

You are making history by putting an end to years of disputes over our beautiful lands. I am confident that this will be the eternal history for our people.

Your visionary policy has brought together all the political parties and the people. This nation will always support You.

I could not hold the tears of joy when I heard that Jabrayil had been recovered from occupation. ‘Thank you, God, for the joy you have bestowed upon us’, I said.

May God always make You happy, Mr. President.’

From Garakhan Teymurov, Fuzuli, Azerbaijan

‘Dear President, Mr. Supreme Commander-in-Chief,

We thank You for putting an end to our 27 years’ longing for Fuzuli. All the people of Fuzuli, all the people of Azerbaijan, ever stand by You. Your sacred service to the motherland will go down in military history and the annals of the world in golden letters.

Long live our President!

Long live our Army!’

From Fuad Karimov, Saatli, Azerbaijan

‘Dear Mr. President,

Our lands that have been under enemy foothold for nearly 30 years are now recovered from occupation thanks to the military operations by the brave Azerbaijani Army in retaliation to yet another provocation by Armenia.

I congratulate You on our victories. May You have many more victories and successes to come!

May God bless us all with new roads and enterprises in Karabakh.’

Azərbaycan Ordusunun sentyabrın 27-də işğalçı Ermənistan silahlı qüvvələrinə qarşı başladığı əks-hücum əməliyyatında əldə etdiyi möhtəşəm qələbələr haqqında bundan sonra kitablar yazılacaq, filmlər çəkiləcək. Amma indidən tam əminliklə deyə bilərik ki, cəbhə uğurlarımızın ən başlıca səbəbi Prezident, Ali Baş Komandan İlham Əliyevin həyata keçirdiyi güclü dövlət, güclü ordu strategiyası, milli birlik və döyüşçülərimizin ruh yüksəkliyi idi.
