The influential Georgian news portal report.ge continue to widely cover the statements made by Azerbaijani President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev during his interviews with leading international media outlets.
“Our task was to restore the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, and we are coming closer to this task. We have been waiting for the restoration of the territorial integrity for almost 30 years. As you know, during all this time Azerbaijan was strictly committed to the negotiation process. However, unfortunately, it did not result in any tangible outcome. In addition, Armenian leadership during the last couple of years has always provoked us by statements, and actions, including military provocations. So the last one took place on the 27th of September. We had to respond and our response was very sensitive to Armenia. Therefore, when we talk about the victory we did not put in front of us such a target. We wanted to resolve it at the negotiation table. But we were always ready to do it on the battlefield what we are doing,” the Georgian news portal cited President Ilham Aliyev as saying in his interview with the Italian La Repubblica newspaper.
The portal also highlighted how the president of Azerbaijan exposed the Armenian myth. “Armenians wanted to scare the Azerbaijani people by committing terrorist attacks against Ganja and Barda cities but they miscalculated the spirit of Azerbaijani people.”
The Georgian portal also highlighted the announcement by Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev of the liberation of several more settlements from the Armenian occupation.
