VOV News, one of the leading Vietnamese media outlets, republished the interview Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev gave to Al Arabiya TV regarding the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
The media outlet also highlighted the phone call between President Ilham Aliyev and French President Emmanuel Macron. It was reported that during the conversation, the French President asked about the foreign fighters recruited from Syria and Turkey to fight on the Azerbaijani side in the war in Nagorno-Karabakh. VOA News, referring to the interview, noted that the Azerbaijani president categorically rejected the accusation, expressed his objection to his French counterpart, and asked him to provide evidence of his claims.
“There is no foreign fighters on Azerbaijani soil. There is no need for that. Our army is almost 100 thousand people,” VOA News cited President Ilham Aliyev as saying.
The Vietnamese media outlet also highlighted President Ilham Aliyev’s denial of reports on the alleged downing of an Armenian SU-25 aircraft by a Turkish F-16 fighter jet. “Another thing which I can tell you that Armenians make another fake news as if Turkish F-16 shot down Armenian SU-25. And that was fake news,” the Azerbaijani leader said.
