Frontline villages not scared of Armenian provocations (Azertag)
The enemy continues firing artillery at settlements and civilians in the frontline territories. However, Armenian provocations do not scare the residents of these frontline villages away. They go about their everyday lives as usual.
The artillery fire of the Armenian armed forces damaged houses, infrastructure and agriculture in the Safarli settlement, built for the IDPs in Aghdam, injuring several residents. Despite all this, there is high morale among the internally displaced. We witnessed optimism and true faith in victory, as we talked to some of the villagers.
Local resident Elmaddin Mustafayev: ‘The enemy fires artillery at our settlement almost every day, damaging the houses and property of the internally displaced. Several shells fell into the settlement yesterday, injuring several residents. These atrocities of the Armenians do not scare us or make us lose heart. Quite the contrary, the achievements of our army boost the morale in our town. We are confident that our lands will soon be liberated, and we will be able to return to our homeland.’
Ramin Pashayev, also an IDP, spoke up: ‘We have not left our homes despite the shelling and the damages to our village. My family and I are at our home. It must be known to the enemy that they will achieve nothing by firing at residential areas. Victory is ours. Insha’Allah we will celebrate our victory in Shusha.’
On 5 October alone, the shelling of Aghdam killed one civilian, injured 2, damaged 2 residential houses, 37 auxiliary buildings, stores and barber shops, 1 kindergarten and killed 2 cattle.
Since early morning on 27 September, the Armenian armed forces launched a large-scale provocation campaign, firing intensively large-calibre weapons, mortars, and artillery at the positions of the Azerbaijani Army along the front line and residential areas of Azerbaijan. They targeted civilians, destroying and severely damaging their houses, property and infrastructure. The command of the Azerbaijani Army has decided to launch a counter-attack operation along the entire frontline to prevent the combat campaign of the Armenian armed forces and to ensure the safety of our civilian population.
