‘People brought to tears of joy as our President announces liberation of Jabrayil city and villages’ (Azertag)
The people of Jojug Marjanly have been following the victories of the glorious Azerbaijani Army with great joy in their homes, where they returned 4 years ago. The liberation of Jabrayil city and the villages of the district added even more to that joy.
Powerless to face the brave Azerbaijani Army, the Armenian fascists fired from heavy artillery at Jojug Marjanly. However, the villagers are anything but scared of the enemy provocations and the village is back to normal life. The enemy has been targeting civilians and inflicting great damage on civilian objects. The damage is now being calculated, and infrastructure restored.
Villager Matlab Haziyev said Jojug Marjanly had been one of the settlements targeted since the beginning of the war on 27 September: ‘The objective behind the provocations is clear. They want to scare us away from our lands. However, they did not get what they wanted. No one left his/her home. It will be long before they recover from the blows of the glorious Azerbaijani Army. We were brought to tears of joy when our President announced that Jabrayil city and its villages were liberated from occupation.’
Vasif Guliyev, another resident we spoke to, also said that morale in the village was high: ‘The liberation of our lands is the greatest gift to us. We truly believe that our flag will soon undulate in Shusha, Lachin, Kalbajar.’
‘We have stayed in the village since the war started. The Armenian fascists targeted our homes as well, but their intentions fell through’, said villager Zamin Haziyev. ‘As Lalatapa was recovered after the April battles, President Ilham Aliyev paid utmost attention and care to rebuild Jojug Marjanly, which was a great source of irritation for the enemy. That is why they targeted this village. They fired rockets at us, but we did not abandon our lands. Our soldiers retaliated worthily. Every resident of Jojug Marjanly rejoices in these achievements of our soldiers and supports the army.’
A history teacher at the village school, Ismet Haziyev, spoke of the high morale among the villagers after the liberation of Jabrayil city and its villages: ‘We are back in our homes. Every resident of Jojug Marjanly is full of determination to win. Although the enemy tried many times, their provocations fell through. Our army retaliated duly. Let us all soon celebrate our Great Victory’, he said.
