A briefing was held for local media representatives on the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Armenia's policy of aggression, the latest events on the front, the killing of Azerbaijani civilians, and the shelling of our territories by Armenia at the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Kazakhstan.
More than 40 TV channels, representatives of information agencies, political scientists, and experts attended the briefing.
The briefing aimed to prevent the dissemination of distorted, fake information under the influence of other states in the information space of Kazakhstan and draw the attention of political scientists and specialists to this issue.
Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Kazakhstan Rashad Mammadov gave detailed information about the recent clashes on the contact line, firing on Azerbaijan’s civilian infrastructure by Armenia, as well as Armenian missile attacks on large cities such as Ganja, Mingachevir, Tartar, Barda, Goygol, Khizi, and Absheron.
The diplomat added that the Azerbaijani Army prevented the provocations of the Armenian armed forces to secure its people and started to liberate its occupied territories with its counter-offensive operations.
Furthermore, it was stated that the Azerbaijani side didn’t need any military help from any country, including Kazakhstan. Azerbaijan looks forward to political and moral support from brotherly Kazakhstan based on the norms of international law.
The diplomat said that unfortunately, in many cases, the local media agencies spread false and distorted news with reference to the information resources of the third country interested in the conflict, even the so-called institutions of the separatist regime, which are not recognized by any country. It does not comply with the official position of Kazakhstan and is a direct violation of norms of international law. To prevent such cases, the embassy prepared a special statement and sent it to all media agencies.
During the briefing, maps showing different periods of Azerbaijan's history, the facts of the relocation of Armenians to the Caucasus, and statistical data on the deportation of Azerbaijanis from Armenia were visually presented to participants. Magazines, brochures, and other documents related to the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict were distributed to the participants.
The ambassador answered journalists’ and political scientists’ questions.
