The well-known journalist Veeramalla Anjaiah has published an article titled ‘Indonesia wants the withdrawal of Armenian troops from Nagorno-Karabakh’ in Indonesian media ‘kompasiana.com’.
The article mentions the casualties among soldiers and civilians in the second week of the war in Nagorno-Karabakh between Azerbaijan and Armenia. It was emphasized that the Nagorno-Karabakh region, known internationally as the territory of Azerbaijan, has been illegally occupied by the Armenian army for years. It was reported that Armenia fired on several cities and villages in Azerbaijan by using rockets, mortars, and artillery, and the increase in casualties among the civilian population of Azerbaijan caused concern.
It was noted that on October 5, the Armenian armed forces shelled Azerbaijan's Mingachevir, an industrial city of Azerbaijan. A day before, it was reported that as a result of an Armenian missile attack on Ganja, the second-largest city of Azerbaijan, schools, hospital buildings, and many houses were destroyed, causing harm to the civilian population.
Mentioning the serious concern of Indonesia over the war in the South Caucasus, the author recalled the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of this country on its official Twitter account that it supports the resolution of the conflict within the framework of the resolutions of the UN Security Council.
The writer especially emphasized that despite the 4 resolutions of the UN Security Council on the immediate withdrawal of the armed forces of Armenia from Azerbaijan's Nagorno-Karabakh and its adjacent territories, Armenia has not implemented the demands of these resolutions for more than 20 years, and said that the main cause of the current war in the region is the Armenians. Armenian PM Pashinyan noted that the Armenian people see war as a way to divert the attention of the Armenian people from the economic and social problems of their country.
The article also includes a statement by the former Azerbaijani ambassador Husnan Fenani: “Indonesia respects the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and recognizes Nagorno-Karabakh as the territory of Azerbaijan. Four resolutions of the UN Security Council clearly state that Nagorno-Karabakh is occupied Azerbaijani lands.”
“Azerbaijani ambassador in Indonesia Jalal Mirzoyev expressed his gratitude to Indonesia and Indonesian people for supporting Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity,” the article also reads.
The author also reminded President Ilham Aliyev’s statement: “We have a single condition. Armenian armed forces must immediately and completely leave the Azerbaijani territories.”
The article informs readers about the liberated cities and villages of Azerbaijan.
