Radio of the Republic of Indonesia (Radio Republik Indonesia, RRI) aired an interview taken from a political expert about the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno Karabakh conflict and the occupation of the Azerbaijani lands by Armenia.
In her interview, political expert and executive director of the Indonesian Democracy Initiative (TIDI) Arya Sandhiyudha spoke about the history of the conflict and the occupation of our territories.
Stating the fact that Nagorno-Karabakh is Azerbaijani territory according to norms and principles of international law, the expert highlighted that the separatist Armenians in the region occupied the Azerbaijani territories with the military support of Armenia. It was reported that as a result of the conflict nearly 30 thousand people were killed and one million Azerbaijanis became IDPs in their lands.
The political expert also noted that the occupation of our territories has continued for many years despite the UN Security Council Resolutions demanding the withdrawal of the Armenian armed forces from the occupied territories.
Besides, the expert noted that Azerbaijan, as a country with rich oil and gas reserves, plays a major role in the energy supply of the Eurasia region, and spoke about the international projects held with the participation of our country.
Besides, Arya Sandhiyudha expressed hope that the war, which started anew as a result of military provocations by Armenia, will be stopped before it becomes a large-scale character, and said that she believes that conflict resolution methods will be addressed again within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group.
