The Japanese mass media writes about the successful operations of the Azerbaijani Army in the Nagorno Karabakh region occupied by Armenia.
Well-known Japanese media ‘Yomiuri simbun’ newspaper, ‘Yahoo Japan’, ‘MSN’ and ‘Huffingtonpost’ published articles about this information on October 4. The publication also highlights the important role of the Israeli-made "Harop" unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in the successful operations of the Azerbaijani Army. Referring to Presidential aide Hikmet Hajiyev’s statement, it was noted that the UAVs play an effective role in striking enemy objects: ‘"If Armenia is scared of the drones that Azerbaijan is using it should stop its occupation.”
In the articles, it is specially mentioned that these UAVs, which were also called "kamikaze drones" in compliance with the name of the kamikaze corps in the Japanese army, are capable of accurate striking.
The Azerbaijani Army successfully used those UAVs during the operations in late September. The article also underlines the fact that those operations have been carried out in Nagorno Karabakh, which was recognized as the territory of Azerbaijan by international organizations and world states, but occupied by Armenia since 1994.
The publication provides comprehensive information on tactical and technical indicators of these UAVs. The readers were informed that these UAVs are produced by "Israel Aerospace Industry" (IAI) company and their length is 2.5 metres with 3-metre wingspan. With their high speed, these UAVs go undetected by radars. It is stated that while hitting the target, they explode themselves, carrying explosives weighing 23 kilograms. It is also reported that these devices cover a distance of 1,000 kilometers and have the capacity to stay in the air for 6 hours without interruption.
