Foreign media
‘TBS’ radio channel of the Republic of Korea aired a program, where listeners were informed about Armenian military aggression and recent provocations against Azerbaijan.
The guest of the program was Azerbaijan’s Ambassador in Seoul Ramzi Teymurov. The ambassador provided information about the history of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, as well as Armenia’s territorial claims not only against Azerbaijan but also Turkiye and Georgia. It was noted that the historical churches claimed by the Armenians as belonging to them belong to Caucasian Albania and that state has no connection with the Armenian people.
Speaking about the settlement of Armenians in Karabakh, the ambassador noted that there was no fact regarding Armenian people in the ‘Kurekchay’ treaty signed between Karabakh’s khan and the Russian general. The Armenian population was moved to Karabakh after the Russian-Iranian wars by the Russian Empire to change the religious composition of the region.
The ambassador said that at the end of the 20th century, Armenians started aggression to expand their territory at the expense of Azerbaijani territories. They occupied 7 surrounding regions in addition to the Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan and carried out ethnic cleansing by grossly violating international humanitarian law. As a result of Armenia’s occupation policy, one million Azerbaijanis were displaced from their homeland.
The diplomat also added that as a result of the "velvet" revolution in Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan came to power and made absurd statements such as "Karabakh is Armenia", which caused the collapse of the negotiation process
It was stated that the Armenian armed forces violated the ceasefire on the border between the two countries, as well as on the contact line. The latest Armenian provocation was committed on September 27. These provocations resulted in deaths and injuries among civilians in the territories along the contact line, as well as in big cities such as Ganja and Mingachevir. The Azerbaijani side started counter-offensive operations to ensure the safety of the civilian population.
Answering the question about the involvement of foreign forces in the battles from the Azerbaijani side, the ambassador pointed out that Azerbaijan, which has a population of 10 million has a modern and well-trained army and the Azerbaijani Armed Forces are capable of providing territorial integrity and sovereignty. The claims about the involvement of mercenaries from the Azerbaijani side are groundless and have no proof.
