Turkey’s moral support further increases Azerbaijan’s strength - MP (Trend)
“There are no other countries in the world today as close to each other as Turkey and Azerbaijan. The words of the great leader of the Turkic world Mustafa Kemal Ataturk “Azerbaijan’s joy is our joy, its sorrow is our sorrow” and the phrase of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev “One nation, two states” are testimony to the indestructibility and eternity of relations between the two countries,” said Azerbaijani MP Nagif Hamzayev.
The lawmaker recalled that Turkey was the first country to recognize Azerbaijan’s independence.
“Azerbaijan-Turkey relations, built based on historical friendship, mutual trust, sincere relations, and high-level cooperation, are strengthening day by day. The fact that our peoples have the same ancestry, language, religion, culture and many other mutual ties has always made these two countries close to each other, and they stood by each other even in happy and sad days,” he said.
Hamzayev noted that from the very first day, Turkey has always supported the steps taken by Azerbaijan on the way to state building, and has raised its voice for Azerbaijan in events attended by major powers. “Especially, these days, when Azerbaijan is fighting for the liberation of its lands, which have been under the Armenian occupation for years, Turkey's support to our country is the clearest expression of our brotherhood and friendship from history.”
According to the lawmaker, the fact that Turkey always stands by the Azerbaijani people in solving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, which is the most painful problem of Azerbaijan, is a symbol of great friendship, brotherhood, and solidarity between the two countries.
“Turkey’s standing by Azerbaijan in its just cause is a message to the world community and international organizations. The moral and political support of the Turkish president, state officials, and people to the people of Azerbaijan further increases the strength of our country,” he added.
