Peace in Nagorno-Karabakh is possible only after the withdrawal of the Armenian army from these territories, The Herald Sun, a leading Australian newspaper, quoted President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev as saying.
The video report prepared by the online newspaper highlighted the meeting of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and first lady Mehriban Aliyeva with the servicemen, who were wounded as a result of Armenia’s military provocations and are currently undergoing treatment at the Central Military Clinical Hospital of the Defense Ministry.
It was noted that the President of Azerbaijan said he knows that the wounded Azerbaijani soldiers and officers wish to recover soon and return to the front.
Stating that the Armenian side is fully responsible for the eruption of the conflict, President Ilham Aliyev disclosed Azerbaijan’s conditions for ending the hostilities.
“We have one condition – they must leave our lands unconditionally, completely and immediately. This condition is still standing, and if the Armenian government fulfills it, the fighting will cease, bloodshed will stop, and there will be peace,” the Australian newspaper quoted the Azerbaijani leader as saying.
The Herald Sun also highlighted the Azerbaijani Army’s successful operations, as well as the shelling by Armenia of settlements and civilian facilities in Azerbaijan.
