Jabrayil resident: I will return to my native village by the car I have been preserving for 27 years (AZERTAC)
Residents of Azerbaijan’s Jabrayil district, who became internally displaced after the occupation of their native lands by Armenian armed forces in August 1993, are currently residing in the country’s different parts, mainly in Bilasuvar district. Among them are residents of Shahvalli village. The dreams of the residents who did not lose hope and faith to return to their native land over the past years have already come true.
Shahvalli is one of Jabrayil’s villages liberated from the Armenian occupation during the ongoing successful counteroffensive of the Azerbaijani Army. Shahvalli residents, who have been residing in an IDP settlement in Bilasuvar district for many years, are waiting for their return to their native village.
Tabriz Hasanov, a Shahvalli resident, plans to return to his home by the car he used to leave the village to escape from the Armenian fascists 27 years ago. “I came with my family in this car, and we will return by it. Thanks to the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief and the power of our army, our dreams have come true.”
Remembering Jabrayil, Hasanov tears up. “We had wonderful days in those places, we were very kind to Armenians. However, the Armenians, whom we shared our bread with and offered a helping hand, rebelled against us and brought calamities to us... Now the Armenians, who are unable to withstand the strength of our army, are committing terrorist attacks against the civilian population. They are firing at Ganja and other cities and killing civilians. But our army responds to them at the front and revenge is taken,” he stressed.
Stating that the glorious Azerbaijani Army continues liberating the country’s occupied territories day by day, Hasanov said he jumped for joy when he heard that Shahvalli village was liberated. “Now we are looking forward to returning to our native land, breathing its air and drinking its water. We believe that all our lands will be freed from occupation,” he added.
Another Shahvalli resident Mahiyaddin Latifov also shared his feelings of joy with us.
“The liberation of our village is the greatest gift for us. Thank you Commander-in-Chief. May God give strength to our army so that our lands will be liberated from occupation in a short time. Now we are waiting to return to our native lands. We have been longing for it for 27 years, the graves of our ancestors remained there. We look forward to returning to those places and continuing our prosperous life there,” Latifov said.
