Different families, same destinies (AZERTAC)

Having suffered a heavy defeat on the battlefield, the Armenian armed forces began to target the civilian population of Azerbaijan living far from the war zone. While rejoicing at the victories of our soldiers at the front, one of our eyes is crying for the sadness of the people whose lives were cut short.

Sevil Babazade, the mother of Gunay Aliyeva, who was killed as Armenian armed forces fired an Elbrus missile at the city of Ganja on October 11 at 2:00 a.m., still remembers that night with tears.

“After hearing the sound of an explosion, I immediately called home but there was no answer. Then, we headed to our home. Halfway there, I saw smoke rising from the building. When we arrived at the site, we were told that a small child and a boy were pulled from the rubble of the building alive. My daughter and her mother-in-law were trapped under the rubble. Their bodies were pulled from the rubble in front of my eyes,” Babazade said.

Although two-year-old Nilay Aliyeva miraculously survived that night, her father Adil Aliyev, mother Gunay Aliyeva, and paternal grandmother lost their lives. Nilay is not yet old enough to understand what happened but for two days it had been impossible to calm the girl who lost both her parents.

Although they are from different families, Khadija Shahnazarova also experienced the same fate after Armenia’s next missile attack on Ganja on October 17. Khadija is three years old. The relatives of Khadija, who was found injured, are now hurt not by the physical wounds the girl received, but by the spiritual wounds inflicted on her. That night, Khadija lost her father Royal, her mother Zuleykha, and her sister Madina, who was a year and a half old. Currently, she is cared for by the family of Nizami Aghayev, his maternal grandfather, in Seyidler village of Samukh district. Her grandfather says: “We would not believe that such a tragedy would happen again. After what happened in Ganja on October 11, we hoped that the world would not turn a blind eye to this and that it would not happen again. I lost my daughter, my son-in-law, and one of my grandchildren.”

Although Khadija survived the explosion, she could not open her eyes to the light of day because of the horror of that night. Only three days later, she mentioned that she had seen his aunt. Relatives say: “It's good that her eyes opened that day, she didn't see that her baby sister was buried in the same grave in his mother's arms.”

Nilay and Khadija are not the first Azerbaijani children left fatherless and motherless by Armenian vandals. However, we hope that as a result of the successful counter-offensive operation of our victorious army, the Armenian aggression will be put to an end. The blood of the martyrs shed for the sake of the Patriotic War will be avenged.

Azərbaycan Ordusunun sentyabrın 27-də işğalçı Ermənistan silahlı qüvvələrinə qarşı başladığı əks-hücum əməliyyatında əldə etdiyi möhtəşəm qələbələr haqqında bundan sonra kitablar yazılacaq, filmlər çəkiləcək. Amma indidən tam əminliklə deyə bilərik ki, cəbhə uğurlarımızın ən başlıca səbəbi Prezident, Ali Baş Komandan İlham Əliyevin həyata keçirdiyi güclü dövlət, güclü ordu strategiyası, milli birlik və döyüşçülərimizin ruh yüksəkliyi idi.
