IDP family from Jabrayil: “Every day we lived with the hope of returning to our native lands, this day has already come” (AZERTAC)
Residents of the village of Sirik in Jabrayil district, who were forced to leave their native lands 27 years ago, greeted the news of liberation from the occupation of their native lands with a feeling of great joy. One of these families is the Mammadov family. Like all Sirik residents, the Mammadov family is looking forward to the day they return to their village. There are only a few days left until this day.
Family member Mahira Mammadova expressed his feelings of joy: “Twenty-seven years ago we were subjected to Armenian vandalism. We were expelled from our native village. We had to live in tents. Then the state built us a house and created the necessary conditions. Despite this, we lived every day with the hope of returning to our native lands, this day has already come. I express my deep gratitude to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief and our army for giving us these joyful days.”
The head of the family, Akbar Rahimov, said that over the years he has never lost hope of returning to his native land. “The April victories of our army gave us hope. Finally, the Azerbaijani soldier made our dreams come true. Every day news of victory comes from the front. I cannot express in words the feelings that I experienced when I heard the name of my native village, Sirik, among the liberated villages.”
Rahimov said that Sirik is the gate that opens to Jabrayil. “Our village has beautiful nature and ancient history. In our village, there is a mosque where Molla Veli Vidadi taught. The Hajigaraman monument is also a famous landmark. Our residents have always been hard-working. After many years, we will return to our native land and live a happy life there,” he added.
It is worth noting that the Azerbaijani Army liberated the village of Sirik from the Armenian occupation on October 22.
