Nitro, a famous German magazine, has published an article entitled “Nagorno-Karabakh: The end of diplomacy brought war”.

The article notes that fierce fighting has been going on for several days in Nagorno-Karabakh, the Azerbaijani region occupied by Armenia.

Speaking to Deutsche Welle, Barbara Hendricks, Chair of the German-South Caucasian Parliamentary Group in German Bundestag, said the biggest problem is that Armenia has never agreed to act in line with international law: “I cannot analyze and say which party is responsible for the escalation of the current situation. But it is clear that international law is on Azerbaijan’s side.”

The article also contains the views of political scientist Gurban Alakbarov about the cause of the conflict flare up. He noted that in order to get an idea of the conflict, it is necessary to reconsider the events that have been taking place since the beginning of 2029.

“Armenian Defense Minister David Tonoyan, who visited the US in March 2019, announced at a meeting with the diaspora that Armenia had switched from a "trench defense" strategy to an "active attack" strategy that "expands offensive capabilities" and described this strategy as a "new war for new territories". Later, Nikol Pashinyan's attempt to change the format of the peace talks, his visit to the occupied Azerbaijani territories, and his populist statements such as "Karabakh is Armenia and the point" were criticized by Azerbaijan, the international community, and the OSCE Minsk Group,” he said.

In the article, the political scientist also touched upon the incident and tension that happened both on the contact line of the troops and on the state border during the past period. It was noted that Armenia's recent attempt to create a source of tension in the region can serve several purposes. Among the factors that serve military and political purposes, there are diverting the attention of the country's population from the socio-economic, financial and political crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, aggravating the situation in the region shortly before the launch of the Azerbaijan-initiated Southern Gas Corridor and creating disbelief in this project on a global scale.

In conclusion, the political scientist underlined that Germany, as a member of the Minsk Group, mediates in finding a peaceful solution to the conflict and has repeatedly expressed support for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. However, Germany does not demonstrate a decisive position on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Azərbaycan Ordusunun sentyabrın 27-də işğalçı Ermənistan silahlı qüvvələrinə qarşı başladığı əks-hücum əməliyyatında əldə etdiyi möhtəşəm qələbələr haqqında bundan sonra kitablar yazılacaq, filmlər çəkiləcək. Amma indidən tam əminliklə deyə bilərik ki, cəbhə uğurlarımızın ən başlıca səbəbi Prezident, Ali Baş Komandan İlham Əliyevin həyata keçirdiyi güclü dövlət, güclü ordu strategiyası, milli birlik və döyüşçülərimizin ruh yüksəkliyi idi.
