Galicia Digital, an influential Spanish portal, published an article strongly condemning Armenia’s violation of the ceasefire with Azerbaijan and the shelling by Armenian armed forces of the Azerbaijani Army’s positions on September 27.
The article notes that Armenian armed forces continue to deliberately target the civilian population of Azerbaijan, and the Azerbaijani Armed Forces launched a counteroffensive operation to ensure the safety of civilians in line with international law and its right to self-defense.
It is reported that Armenia’s continued aggression against Azerbaijan constitutes a blatant violation of international law, the UN Security Council’s relevant resolutions demanding a complete and unconditional withdrawal of Armenian troops from the occupied Azerbaijani territories, including the Geneva Conventions of 1949.
The article further says the international community, which is well aware of the fact that the illegal presence of Armenian troops in the occupied Nagorno-Karabakh and surrounding regions of Azerbaijan poses a serious threat to peace and stability in the region, should condemn Armenia’s aggression against Azerbaijan and force the aggressor to fulfill its obligations under international law.
It is especially emphasized that full responsibility for the situation lies with the political and military leadership of Armenia.
