Australia’s leading media outlets highlighted the statement made by Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, that Armenian armed forces, in a gross violation of the ceasefire with Azerbaijan, resorted to provocations starting the morning of September 27 and the Azerbaijani Army launched retaliatory actions.
vibimedia.net.au, abs.net.au, sbs.com.au websites reported that since the morning of September 27, Armenian armed forces, using heavy weapons, mortar launchers and artillery pieces, have been shelling the Azerbaijani Army’s positions located in Gapanli village of Tartar district, Chiragli and Orta Garvand villages of Aghdam district, Alkhanli, Shukurbayli and Jabrayil districts of Fuzuli district and Jojug Marjanli villages of Jabrayil district.
The article, titled “Azerbaijan denounces Armenian aggression, calls for world attention,” which was published by the portal vibimedia.net.au underlined that Armenian armed forces deliberately shelled the civilian population densely residing in frontline areas. Casualties were reported among military and civilians. Numerous houses and civilian facilities were damaged.
