SSS Appeals to Citizens – ‘Do not spread unverified info’
The State Security Service, one of the state institutions that contributes greatly to the information war, has warned citizens. The service reports that the Azerbaijani Army has been conducting a successful counter-offensive along the entire frontline and inflicting crushing blows to the enemy since 27 September 2020.
The President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev regularly informs the people on our recovered cities and villages and captured combat positions, military equipment and weapons through his televised appeals and official accounts on social networks. The Ministry of Defence keeps the public updated several times a day on successful military operations by the Azerbaijani Army and position shifts on the frontline.
‘Despite all this, the circulation of information on the liberation of certain residential areas and other operations conducted by the Azerbaijani Army on social media, that does not entirely reflect the truth, not only hinders our common cause but also builds the ground for misconceptions and complacency about an easy victory. Understanding the boosted victorious morale among our people and their sacred wish of seeing our lands liberated from the enemy as soon as possible, we request all to only refer to official sources and to not spread unverified information.
We must not forget that we stand face-to-face with an insidious enemy. Inaccurate information about military operations posted in good faith may end up serving the Armenian interests’, the communique reads.
