Armenia’s Phosphorus Weapon Provocation Exposed
The Ministry of Defence has once again spoken out on Armenia circulating false information in the media. The received intelligence reads that the units of the 3rd motorized rifle regiment of the 37th Infantry division of the 1st General Army of the Armenian Armed Forces towards occupied Khojavand have obtained large amounts of cargo of phosphorus.
‘We believe that the purpose the enemy pursues in bringing out phosphorus-containing ammunition in the mentioned areas is to put it to use against the units of the Azerbaijani Army or to spread misinformation that our units have allegedly scattered the ammunition in the area.
On 30 October, the Armenian side already circulated fake news that the Azerbaijani Army is allegedly employing weapons containing white phosphorus, thus laying the groundwork for future provocations.
We state once again that the Azerbaijani Army has no prohibited ammunition in their armament.’
