Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu: Turkic-speaking countries’ solidarity with Azerbaijan is too important
The recent increasing attacks by Armenia against Azerbaijan call us to be more responsible. Armenia, which has been keeping 20 percent of Azerbaijan's lands under occupation for nearly 30 years, attacks other territories and fires at civilians. These actions of Armenia are war crimes.
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu made the statement in his online speech at the opening ceremony of the 2020-2021 academic year of the International Kazakh-Turkish University.
Speaking about the importance of mutual support and protection of the common values of Turkic-speaking countries, the minister said: “What can be more legitimate than the struggle of Azerbaijan to defend its land and people?! Some forces are silent on the rightful cause of Azerbaijan. Resolutions and decisions of the UN Security Council and the OSCE remain unimplemented. As brother countries, our solidarity with Azerbaijan in this matter is very important.”
