Pomegranate Festival: From Goychay to Karabakh!
The traditional Pomegranate Festival, hosted annually in Goychay, was held in a different format on 1 November this year. A caravan loaded with pomegranates, the king of fruits and symbol of Goychay, was sent to our soldiers at the frontline at the event ‘From Goychay to Karabakh!’.
Mehdi Salimzadeh, the head of local executive authority, delivered the opening speech at the 15th Pomegranate Festival ‘From Goychay to Karabakh!’ and spoke about the achievements authored by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces in Karabakh within the counter-offensive under the command of President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev. He noted that the successful domestic and foreign policy pursued by our head of state has led to the liberation of a significant portion of our historical, eternal and ancestral lands. Our people, united around the motto of ‘We are stronger together’, are confident that we will soon witness the day of Great Victory.
The annual Pomegranate Festival was replaced by a kind gesture this year, as a caravan filled with pomegranates was sent to our soldiers at the frontline. The Goychay locals all welcomed the new format for the 15th Pomegranate Festival.
The participants of the opening then sent off the caravan to the frontline to the sounds of ovations and Janghi music. The event was held observing all the rules and restrictions of the pandemic.
