Karabakh Veteran: ‘We are getting good news from our Karabakh we have longed for thirty years’
‘We have been getting joyous news daily from our Karabakh, a part of our Azerbaijan that we have longed for these past thirty years. We follow how our glorious army moves forward, recovering those holds from the enemy foothold. Our Fuzuli, Jabrayil, Zangilan, Hadrut, Sugovushan, Khudafarin, and many villages have been liberated. All our borders with Iran have been taken under full control after the recovery of Zangilan. The day is near when we fully clear our lands from the invaders. We have been longing for that day for many long years’, says Hikmat Asgarli, a disabled Karabakh veteran.
‘I fought in the First Karabakh War. Modern Azerbaijan is not the same country it was at the time. We are proud of our army, military prowess, arsenal and combat tactics, while Armenians and their patrons are surprised by it all. We are grateful to the President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev for all this. Our achievements are the result of his informed and wise economic, political, military and diplomatic activities. God willing, I will soon visit Shusha and Kalbajar with my family. I will drink the water and breathe the air of those lands. That is when the pain I suffered in the first Karabakh battles will be nothing but a mere memory for me’, Asgarli concludes.
