What they wrote to the President
President of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev continues to receive letters.
We present some of them:
From Aghamirza Atayev, Dagestan, Russia
‘Dear Mr. President,
I am 39, and I work at Haydar Aliyev Secondary School in Jemikend, Derbent, Republic of Dagestan.
I have been following the counteroffensive by Your army in Karabakh. I feel extremely happy upon hearing the news of the liberation of Karabakh lands and look forward to more tides every day. I rejoice at the recovery of Jabrayil, Fuzuli, Zangilan, and other villages and settlements.
I can’t wait to see Gubadli, Lachin, Khankendi, Shusha, and Kalbajar liberated.
I would love to spend my next summer vacation in Azerbaijan and stay in Shusha. I would love the young generation to know the truths of Azerbaijan and Karabakh and not to fall for the Armenian lies.
Mr. President, I thank You and all Your soldiers for liberating Your native land and wish You more success.
May God Almighty protect You and Your soldiers.’
From Matin Masimli, California, USA
‘Dear Mr. President,
The people of Azerbaijan have achieved many victories and successes throughout history. The victorious Azerbaijani Army, founded by the national leader Heydar Aliyev and much improved professionally and infrastructurally during Your presidency, has been displaying true heroism while recovering the Azerbaijani lands from the enemy since September 27. This makes me extremely happy and proud as a young Azerbaijani. This victory is the product of Your successful policy, determination, and faith. The Azerbaijani Army under Your leadership is writing the victory history as we speak. As an Azerbaijani youth, I am proud of You and await Your orders. I truly believe that only the path You and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva are on can lead Azerbaijan to a bright future. My support for You is infinite and I am proud to see myself walking with You on this path.
I am currently pursuing a master’s degree at the University of California. I cannot wait for the day I can apply the technical and economic knowledge I have gained during these eight years of studies in America to develop my own country, Azerbaijan.
I will serve my motherland and state as an Azerbaijani soldier and an economy and tech expert and will always be proud of it. I would like to end with the following:
Long live Azerbaijan!
Long live the Supreme Commander-in-Chief!
Karabakh is Azerbaijan!’
Muraz Davidov and others, Tel Aviv, Israel

May Allah protect our Azerbaijan, glorious Army, and You, Mr. President!

‘Dear victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief,
Thank God, we are recovering our occupied lands through the counteroffensive under Your command. I am confident that Your determination, the strength of our army, and the prayers of our people will lead to the liberation of the remaining occupied lands. Although I am not originally from Karabakh, I have always longed for those lands as if I had lived there.
The hope in my heart never died out and You have been living up to the hopes and faith of many people like me, thus making us extremely happy. I proudly watch all of Your speeches with great attentiveness multiple times. You speak for Your people from their very hearts. You convey our hearts to the world. Your resolute stance and courageous speeches make us stronger and confident in victory.
You and our invincible army are marching towards victory and our eyes tear up with joy as we watch it happen. There are no words to describe the feelings we have. I have never been this proud and joyous in my entire life. We are grateful to You for bestowing this joy upon us.’
From Ayaz Haziyev, Zangilan, Azerbaijan
‘Dear President, victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief,
I would like to share my joy with You. I am the son of martyred Rahman Haziyev and we originally come from Zangilan. I am endlessly thankful to You because the souls of our martyrs rejoice at our recent victories thanks to You and our Army.
Long live our victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief! May God protect You and our soldiers!
We are stronger together!
Karabakh is Azerbaijan!’
From Fakhraddin Guliyev, Aghjabadi, Azerbaijan
‘Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief,
The Azerbaijani Army is making history under Your command. The Azerbaijani soldiers and officers display true heroism on the battlefield, delivering heavy blows to the enemy armed forces and liberating our lands from occupation.
I believe, as an Azerbaijani citizen, that our occupied territories will be recovered from the hateful Armenian oppression, our IDPs will soon return home, our territorial integrity will be reinstated, and life will once again flow in our dear Karabakh.
There is no war without losses and martyrs. The iron-willed Azerbaijani sons are sacrificing their lives for the Motherland, becoming martyrs for their land.
I bow before all our martyrs who died in the Patriotic War. May they rest in peace.
Long live the Azerbaijani Army!’
From Gabil Gasimov,
‘Dear President, victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief,
Your successful policy and the valour of our mighty Army is putting an end to thirty years of longing. I congratulate You and the entire Azerbaijani nation on the victories won to liberate our lands. My family and I are rejoiced with these achievements as citizens.
God willing, we shall banish the enemy from all our occupied lands, raise our tricolour flag in every corner of our beautiful lands, and restore our territorial integrity.’
From Tarlan Shirinov, Siyazan, Azerbaijan
‘Dear Mr. President,
I am a member of the New Azerbaijan Party and a promoter of the ideas we have inherited from the great leader Heydar Aliyev. I support the domestic and foreign policy You pursue as the head of state.
The successes penned by the Azerbaijani Army in the current war are the product of Your vision. It is thanks to You that Azerbaijan has integrated into the East and Europe, having established good ties with many countries around the globe. You have always stood out among others with Your unique methods who remained simple no matter how much fame You gained. The people rely on and believe in You and the First Vice President Mehriban Khanum.
Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief, I am a member of a martyr family. My brother fell in the battles for the territorial integrity of our state. I served in the military in Tovuz and I have recently undergone surgery. But I can at least work as a driver at the front. My biggest dream is to join the battles and avenge my brother. I await Your order to fulfil this wish!’
From Ziyadkhan Mirzayev, Aghjabadi, Azerbaijan
‘Dear Mr. President,
I thank You on behalf of myself and my family. We would all love to envelop You in a hug. You are making us all happy with the news of victory. May God bless and help You.
I wish You to be given the rank of generalissimo to be awarded on Victory Day. We must also name the highest peak in Lachin the ‘Ilham Peak’.
Karabakh is Azerbaijan!’
From Ehtigam Baghirov, Baku, Azerbaijan
‘Dear President,
Our heroic sons are fighting bravely against the enemy at the frontline on these historical days for Azerbaijan. I, too, am ready to do my best, while we write the glorious history of Azerbaijan, and expel the enemy from our native lands. I am not accepted to join the battles due to my health on this difficult day for my Motherland. As a father, I would love for my son Hajibaghir Baghirov, who is currently in prison, to fight shoulder-to-shoulder with our brave sons in the battles for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. This would be a great honour for us as Azerbaijanis.’
From Fakhriyya Jafarova, Baku, Azerbaijan
‘Our dearest Mr. President!
I congratulate You and all our people on these difficult, yet triumphant days. May God bestow good health upon You. I am so happy to be an Azerbaijani and to have a President like You. These are the days of both sorrow and joy. Some of my relatives are also fighting in the battles for our Karabakh. May Allah protect our Army and nation! We all love You very much and wholeheartedly support You. Victory belongs to us! Karabakh is Azerbaijan. Long live Azerbaijan! May Allah protect our soldiers. I pray for You constantly. May God protect You. My parents used to always tell us how Karabakh was occupied, but we, the youth, will now be telling the story of how Karabakh is liberated from occupation thanks to You and our strong Army. The joy of victory is very close. We wholeheartedly believe it.’
