Support Event for Azerbaijan in Istanbul
Hazarfem Khazar Folklore, Education, and Research Centre has organized a support event for Azerbaijan at Azerbaijan Friendship Park in Baghjilar, Istanbul, on 11 October.
The event was attended by Narmina Mustafayeva, Azerbaijani Consul General in Istanbul, Nuran Ajar, Hazarfem Director, members of several state institutions in Istanbul, the public and media.
The speakers at the event strongly condemned the ceasefire violation by the Armenian armed forces in Nagorno-Karabakh and other regions of Azerbaijan as of 27 September, and their targeting of Azerbaijani residential areas and military units with heavy weaponry. They emphasized that the latest provocations once again prove that Armenia is the biggest obstacle to peace and tranquillity in the region.
The speakers pronounced their full support for the Azerbaijani Army in their righteous struggle, protecting their people and territorial integrity while exercising their right to self-defence recognized by international law. They noted that the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan has been under Armenian occupation for almost thirty years. They demanded an end to this unjust occupation in accordance with the decrees of the UN Security Council and the OSCE. They invited the international community to stand by Azerbaijan, which has been subjected to Armenian occupation and attacks.
The participants read out a statement in support for brotherly Azerbaijan and chanted mottos for support, raising Azerbaijani and Turkish flags.
