Supporting the army
Mammadli Sisters Donate their Savings to the Armed Forces Relief Fund
Every Azerbaijani, young to old, is proud of the strikes by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces against the Armenian army and the liberation of our lands, which have been under occupation for almost 30 years. The people of Azerbaijan are sincerely confident that the Azerbaijani army will soon recover all our lands and restore the territorial integrity of our country. Every patriot is doing their best to show their support and love for our army. The sisters Amina and Mirvari Mammadli have also decided to add their small contribution to the victory march of the Azerbaijani Army. The girls have transferred the money they have been saving from their daily allowances to the Armed Forces Relief Fund.
Still school students, Amina and Mirvari say that what they’ve read and watched on TV about the atrocities committed against Azerbaijanis in Khojaly, especially children and women, have inspired hate for the Armenian executioners. ‘We were extremely happy about the victory news in the Patriotic War, which started on 27 September. We thought about how we could support our brave soldiers in their victorious march and decided to donate the money we had saved from our daily allowances and the money that our father gave us for gifts to the Armed Forces Relief Fund. Our parents welcomed the idea, so we transferred that money (5,115 manats) to the Relief Fund. We know that the Azerbaijani state and our army do not need any financial assistance. We simply wanted to have a contribution, albeit very small, in this victory’.
Amina is a ninth-grader at Academician Zarifa Aliyeva High School, and Mirvari is an honours eighth-grader at 160 classical gymnasium. They both wish to go to college and work hard for the development of Azerbaijan. In their spare time, the two siblings teach their younger sister Halima to read and count.
