Supporting the army

Ashkenazi Jews in Azerbaijan Pray for Victory

Ashkenazi Jews in Azerbaijan congregated in their synagogue in Baku, to pray for the absolute victory by our glorious army in the ongoing intense war to reinstate the territorial integrity of our country.

Our Jewish compatriots gathered in the synagogue and prayed to God for the war to end soon and our lands to be liberated, for our soldiers to safely return to their homes, for the reinstation of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, for the establishment of peace in the country and the entire world.

The religious rite was performed as per a special permit, with all the restrictions in mind, necessitated by the pandemic. The Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi Shneor Segal spoke at the ceremony and underlined that the local Jewish community has always supported the people of Azerbaijan:

‘We love our motherland Azerbaijan very much and consider it a great honour to protect it. We, members of various nationalities and religions, can comfortably coexist and practice our own culture and religion here.

We prayed here today for each of our soldiers who is now fighting for the motherland and wished them absolute victory from God and a safe return home. We believe that we will hold our next ceremony in Shusha.’

Azərbaycan Ordusunun sentyabrın 27-də işğalçı Ermənistan silahlı qüvvələrinə qarşı başladığı əks-hücum əməliyyatında əldə etdiyi möhtəşəm qələbələr haqqında bundan sonra kitablar yazılacaq, filmlər çəkiləcək. Amma indidən tam əminliklə deyə bilərik ki, cəbhə uğurlarımızın ən başlıca səbəbi Prezident, Ali Baş Komandan İlham Əliyevin həyata keçirdiyi güclü dövlət, güclü ordu strategiyası, milli birlik və döyüşçülərimizin ruh yüksəkliyi idi.
