Our Compatriots in Moldova Support the Azerbaijani Army
Around 50 of our compatriots in Moldova gathered at the Azerbaijani Embassy in Chisinau and met with Ambassador Gudsi Osmanov at the event organized by the Congress of Azerbaijanis of Moldova (CAM).
The goal was to express support for the Azerbaijani Army in the battles launched in retaliation to Armenian provocations of 27 September and declare their readiness to fulfill all orders and tasks by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Ilham Aliyev and join the battles for the territorial integrity of our country.
CAM chairman Elchin Bayramov spoke at the event and stated that over 500 Azerbaijanis had applied to express their concern with the battles at the front and their support for the army. However, they had been able to arrange the participation of only 50 as per Moldovan legislation due to the pandemic. Bayramov added that Azerbaijanis in Moldova had decided to provide financial assistance to the Armed Forces Relief Fund to support our army.
The speakers at the event included the former chairman Mehman Ismayilov, diaspora activists Maarif Rahimov and Vagif Bayramov, and the youth Mahizer Mammaova and Zamir Gurbanov. They all declared their support for the comprehensive and wise policy pursued by President Ilham Aliyev to safeguard and serve the interests of the state and people of Azerbaijan and protect the territorial integrity of the country.
Ambassador Osmanov thanked our patriotic compatriots for their attention and support in the battles for the territorial integrity of our country and emphasized that Azerbaijan was home to a powerful army, which did not need outside support. He pointed out that the embassy in Moldova was the second home for Azerbaijanis in the country and that it always welcomed their requests and proposals. He encouraged our compatriots to employ their education, expertise, and skills to pursue our rightful cause in Moldova. The diplomat invited the Azerbaijanis to unite around CAM, as Armenians enjoyed high influence in politics and other fields in Moldova.
The participants of the meeting completed the event by thanking the ambassador and noting that they would mobilize all efforts in organizing Azerbaijanis in Moldova.
