Veterans of Guba-Gusar Battalion willing to join the battles
The veteran soldiers of the Guba-Gusar battalion, who fought bravely in the Karabakh War, have applied to voluntarily join the war.
They went to the Guba District Office of the State Service for Mobilization and Conscription to be registered after the July provocations by the enemy.
The veterans visited the Alley of Martyrs in Guba to lay flowers on the graves of their fallen comrades in arms, who died heroically for the freedom of our country.
Mobil Ahmadov, the division commander of the Guba-Gusar battalion, expressed confidence that our glorious army will completely recover our occupied territories. ‘We are fighting the Patriotic War to liberate our lands. Our army is inflicting crushing blows on the enemy. We, veterans, are ready to take up arms and join the war of justice. I am a reserve officer. Although I am not as young as I used to be, I consider myself ready to fight. We must avenge our martyred comrades’, Mobil Ahmadov said.
His comrade-in-arms Ismet Jafarov talks about the successful operations of our Army in emotions. ‘I am sure that our fellow fighters who now rest in the Alley of Martyrs are in peace. The lands they died for are being redeemed at this very moment. Our heroic soldiers have restored the Murov Peak. This is quite an achievement. This suggests that Kalbajar and Lachin will soon be liberated from occupation. Just like the head of our country says, if the enemy does not want to die, they must quit our lands’, the veteran proclaimed.
The Guba-Gusar Battalion was established after the great leader Heydar Aliyev’s appeal to the nation on 7 November 1993. Around 500 heroic sons of the Motherland shortly joined the battalion. They threw themselves into the midst of merciless battles against the Armenian military forces and soon became famous for their heroism on the frontline. The Guba-Gusar battalion lost about 40 comrades in the Karabakh War. 7 people went missing, another 90 were injured.
The veteran fighters said that they are ever ready to take up arms and liberate our occupied lands under the command of the President, Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev.
