Australian Azerbaijanis Appeal to Australian Prime Minister on Recent Provocations by the Armenian Army

The Australian Azerbaijani Association (AAA) has appealed to Prime Minister Scott Morrison regarding the latest provocation of the Armenian army against Azerbaijan launched on 27 September. The AAA President Mikayil Oyta reported.

The appeal reminds us of the provocation committed by the Armenian army on 12 July this year towards Tovuz. The oil and gas pipelines, which play an exceptional role in Europe’s energy security, pass through this region. To continue its occupant policy, Armenia launched yet another largescale provocation on 27 September, firing intensively from mortars and various-caliber heavy weaponry at the positions of the Azerbaijani Army along the frontline, Gapanli village in Tartar, Chiragli and Orta Garavand villages in Aghdam, Alkhanli and Shukurbeyli villages in Fuzuli and Jojug Marjanli village in Jabrayil. A family of five lost their lives in Gashalti village near Naftalan in the Republic of Azerbaijan. This is in gross violation of the 1949 Geneva Convention and the ceasefire regime between the parties, signed in 1994. The Azerbaijani Army has launched a counterattack in all directions along the frontline in response to ensure the safety of the civilians.

The appeal draws attention to a number of states providing Armenia with new weapons, thus inciting the war. Tons of weaponry and military equipment are sent to the aggressor country.

The address reflects the successful military operations conducted by the Azerbaijani Army, resulting in recovering several residential areas and strategic heights from the invaders. It will allow the IDPs, displaced from their ancestral lands for many years, to safely return home. Therefore, the Australian Azerbaijani Association fully supports the operations launched to recover our native lands.

The appeal clearly notes that Azerbaijan had been trying to resolve the conflict peacefully through diplomatic negotiations, whereas Armenia never intended to willingly vacate the occupied lands.

The association remarks that the occupant Armenian military and political leadership bears all responsibility under the circumstances.

The statement ends with the AAA’s call on the Australian government and parliament to restore justice in the Azerbaijani lands and to support our people in their rightful cause.

Azərbaycan Ordusunun sentyabrın 27-də işğalçı Ermənistan silahlı qüvvələrinə qarşı başladığı əks-hücum əməliyyatında əldə etdiyi möhtəşəm qələbələr haqqında bundan sonra kitablar yazılacaq, filmlər çəkiləcək. Amma indidən tam əminliklə deyə bilərik ki, cəbhə uğurlarımızın ən başlıca səbəbi Prezident, Ali Baş Komandan İlham Əliyevin həyata keçirdiyi güclü dövlət, güclü ordu strategiyası, milli birlik və döyüşçülərimizin ruh yüksəkliyi idi.
