Assistant to the First Vice-President of Azerbaijan Elchin Amirbayov gave an interview to the Al-Arabiya Arab TV channel on attracting mercenaries and jihadists from the Middle East by Turkey and Azerbaijan.
In his interview with Al Arabiya TV channel, Elchin Amirbayov, Assistant to the First Vice-President of Azerbaijan, strongly rejected the allegations of the recruitment of mercenaries and jihadists by Turkey and Azerbaijan. He noted that these allegations are groundless and aimed at misleading the international community.
Amirbayov stated that Armenia has attracted thousands of PKK and PUK terrorists, as well as mercenaries and militants of Armenian descent who are citizens of several European countries, the United States and the Middle East. The official said Azerbaijan once again faced the double-standard attitude of certain forces. He noted that none of the parties accusing Azerbaijan presented at least some evidence to confirm the above-mentioned slanders, as well as they did not dare to apologize for the obvious lies.
As for a possible ceasefire, Amirbayov said Baku participated in the meeting in the Russian capital and joined the Moscow statement, demonstrating its goodwill and support for the peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
“Armenia has once again demonstrated its intention not to return to the negotiating table and not to stop its military aggression. Moreover, by treacherously firing at night on the civilian population of Ganja from its territory, Armenia committed a crime against humanity and another act of genocide against the people of Azerbaijan. According to the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949, the use of the Elbrus (Scud) missile against the civilian population is a war crime and all responsibility rests with the Armenian leadership,” he added.
