Chinese Media Highlight Statements on Karabakh Conflict and Developments on the Ground
On the website of CGTN (China Global Television Network), the English-language channel of China Central Television, an article has been published featuring remarks by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan about the absence of a diplomatic solution to the Karabakh conflict.
The publication references a statement made by Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, in response to Pashinyan’s declaration that Armenia is not interested in a negotiated settlement. Hajiyev noted:
“The Armenian Prime Minister’s statement that ‘there is no diplomatic solution to the conflict’ once again demonstrates that Armenia is completely uninterested in resolving the conflict through negotiations. With this statement, Armenia’s leadership admits that their goal is to maintain Azerbaijan’s occupied territories under occupation. This further confirms that Yerevan’s official statements about seeking a peaceful resolution are nothing but hypocrisy.”Meanwhile, China Central Television’s news channel CCTV13 broadcast a report drawing attention to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s address to the nation on October 20. The report featured President Aliyev’s comments on the military equipment, weapons, and ammunition destroyed or seized from Armenian forces during ongoing operations by the Azerbaijani Army.
The Xinhua News Agency has also covered statements from Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense regarding the situation along the front line.
Additionally, an article published in China Daily highlighted Armenia’s violations of the humanitarian ceasefire and the shelling of Azerbaijani positions. The report noted that as a result of Armenian rocket attacks on Ganja, Azerbaijan’s second-largest city, civilians were killed and injured.
Another news piece on Chinese internet portals reported that following the liberation of the Khudaferin Bridge, Azerbaijani forces advanced toward Zangilan.
