An article titled "The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the weight of energy" was published on the "RiEnergia" website of the "Research on Industry and Energy" society, which researches the energy policy of the world countries, written by Professor Carlo Frappi, a researcher at the "Ca Foscari" University of Venice.
The article states that Azerbaijan, as one of the main producers of hydrocarbons in the Eurasian region, has succeeded in developing the energy sector more effectively after gaining independence from the USSR. It is noted that Baku, through the start of production and the construction of pipelines such as the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline and the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline, which is currently the first segment of the wider Southern Gas Corridor, will become regional (Turkey, Georgia) and European (primarily Italy) succeeded in obtaining the necessary financing, know-how and diplomatic support to carry out significant volumes of exports to its markets.
