Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Croatia Fakhreddin Gurbanov’s interview was published in the leading Croatian social and political magazine "Nacional".
The ambassador provides extensive information about the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and its causes. The diplomat also mentioned 4 resolutions of the UN Security Council regarding the occupation of Azerbaijani lands by Armenia, the displacement of more than 1 million people, and the resolution of the conflict within the framework of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity. He spoke about the provocations committed by Armenia, including the new military doctrine of the Armenian leadership. It was stated that the re-escalation of the conflict was due to the fact that the negotiations in recent years have not yielded any results and the lack of pressure on Armenia by the international community. Besides, the details of the Armenian armed attack were reported.
At the same time, answering the questions about the relations with Turkey and NATO, the ambassador noted that Armenia’s baseless claims on the involvement of the mercenaries from the Azerbaijani side aimed to involve other countries in the conflict and increase the pressure on Azerbaijan.
