In the evening edition of the leading Australian SBS television channel "World News", it was reported that the armed forces of Armenia fired rockets at Ganja, the second largest city of Azerbaijan, and killed civilians.
In the program, charge d'affaires for Azerbaijan in Australia Ramil Gurbanov, diaspora activists Jesika Oyta and Shamseddin Nejadi informed the audience about the history of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, as well as the Khojaly genocide.
They noted that in the 90s of the last century, Armenians took advantage of the confusion caused by the collapse of the former USSR and occupied the lands of Azerbaijan with the help of their foreign patrons. The ongoing negotiations with the participation of the OSCE Minsk Group, which was set up in 1992, regarding the resolution of the conflict, have not yielded any results. On the contrary, Armenia took advantage of the conditions and decided to occupy other territories of Azerbaijan. In response to the next provocation by the Armenian army on September 27, the Azerbaijani army launched counter-attack operations. As a result of the fighting that continued until October 10, a number of territories were liberated from occupation.
Although a humanitarian ceasefire was announced between the parties at the request of the Russian leadership, the Armenians continued their rocket attacks on Azerbaijani cities. For example, dozens of people, mostly women and children, were killed and many others were injured as a result of rocket attacks on the city of Ganja, which is located far from the frontline.
It was highlighted that the international community, especially Australian people who are always on the side of peace must condemn the violent country and its inhumane actions.
