Our military units entered Kalbajar district, as laid out in the terms of the trilateral agreement signed by the Presidents of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation and the Prime Minister of Armenia, thus ending the 27-year occupation of Kalbajar. ‘I heartily congratulate all the people of Azerbaijan on this occasion. Dear people of Kalbajar, rejoice! Your native district has been liberated from occupation’, said President Ilham Aliyev as he addressed the nation. Mehriban Aliyeva, the first vice-president, posted on her official Instagram account: ‘May our Glorious Victory bring a lot of joy, smiles, happiness, peace and calm to every home and every family! May the Almighty God protect our people, our Motherland, and our President! Karabakh is Azerbaijan!’ Baku residents celebrated the news with a motor rally in the capital city.
