Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev meets with Rustam Soli, Ambassador of Tajikistan to Azerbaijan
On October 22, Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to Azerbaijan Rustam Soli.
Referring to the traditional friendship and partnership relations between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan, and the existence of business relations in all fields, the Prosecutor General underlined the successful development of relations, the importance of mutual visits and meetings of the heads of state in the expansion of cooperation between the two countries.
Kamran Aliyev stressed that starting from September 27, Armenian armed forces have committed crimes against peace and humanity against peaceful Azerbaijani civilians firing heavy artillery and missiles on residential areas. “On October 4, 11 and 17, Armenian armed forces made missile attacks on the densely populated central part of the ancient and historical Ganja using internationally banned "Scud" missile systems, and killing 63, including 18 women, 8 children, injuring 293 civilians, including 69 women, 32 children. Moreover, the enemy inflicted serious damage on 2072 residential houses, 90 multi-storey buildings and 386 civil infrastructure facilities,” he noted.
Expressing his gratitude for the cordial reception, the ambassador touched on bilateral relations and said that Tajikistan attaches great importance to relations with Azerbaijan and that relations are developing at a high level and successfully.
Expressing his country’s position on the conflict, Rustam Soli stated that Tajikistan recognizes territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and that the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh is an integral part of Azerbaijan. He underlined the importance of the resolution of the conflict within the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan, based on the basic principles stipulated in the relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council.
Later, the sides exchanged views on cooperation, legal assistance in criminal cases, extradition and other issues between the prosecutor's offices of both states.
